Statement of Faith

Faith lived out in the workplace

In 2007, a group of Willmar business leaders saw the need to bring faith into the workplace. What began as a small group gathering for prayer and encouragement has grown into a network of leaders committed to living out their faith in their businesses, supporting one another, and making a lasting impact in the community.

Living in authentic connection with other believers

We believe that following Christ was never meant to be done in isolation. As leaders, we are called to build meaningful relationships that challenge, support, and encourage one another.

Faith at Work creates intentional spaces where business leaders can:

  • Build authentic relationships

  • Share real-life challenges and victories

  • Encourage one another in faith and leadership

When we walk in the light together, we experience true fellowship and accountability that strengthens both our faith and our impact.

Community

  • “But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

“Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”

Everything we have is entrusted by God

We believe our time, resources, influence, and businesses are gifts from God—given not just for our benefit, but for His eternal purposes.

As stewards, we are called to:

  • Lead with integrity and responsibility

  • Use our influence to serve others

  • Invest in people and Kingdom impact

Faith at Work encourages leaders to see their workplace not just as a job, but as a platform for lasting impact.

Stewardship

  • God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.“Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.”

Our most effective business practice

In a world that relies on strategy, performance, and control, we believe prayer is the most powerful and effective practice we have as followers of Jesus.

We prioritize prayer not as a last resort, but as a first response.

Through prayer, we:

  • Seek God’s wisdom in decision-making

  • Invite His presence into our workplaces

  • Intercede for our teams, businesses, and community

Prayer aligns our leadership with God’s will and reminds us that we are not leading alone.

Prayer

  • “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

“Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.”

Our work reflects His glory

We believe the way we lead, serve, and work is a direct reflection of our commitment to Christ.

Excellence is not about perfection—it’s about honoring God through our effort, attitude, and integrity.

When we pursue excellence:

  • Our work earns trust and credibility

  • Our leadership opens doors for influence

  • Our lives become a visible testimony of God’s character

We strive to do our work wholeheartedly, knowing we ultimately serve the Lord.

Excellence

  • “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. 24 Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.”

“The workplace is where most people spend most of their lives—so it must be where faith is lived out.”

— John Maxwell

“God is as much at work in the marketplace as He is in the church.”

—Henry Blackaby
